Tripod Stand for Phone Wallet Case

This is a simple adaptor for holding a mobile phone on a tripod. There are loads of models on the web for holding a mobile phone on a tripod, but they all seem to assume a phone either on its own or in a simple case. I keep my phone in a wallet type case (with credit cards and some cash) and I wanted a phone holder that wouldn't require me to remove it from its case.

This is what it looks like from the other side of the phone:

As you can see, the flap of the phone holder just hangs down out of the way.

I designed it with two different mounting options: there is a standard camera thread for mounting on a plain tripod and there are four holes counterbored for M5 cap screws for mounting on an adaptor of some sort: in my case I printed a quick release adaptor (fitted with heat-set inserts) to suit my tripod.

I am a hobbyist metalworker and woodworker. I work as an electronic design engineer and spend most of my working days in front of a computer so I enjoy having the opportunity to use my hands and make things in my spare time. I particularly enjoy making tools as I can then use them on other projects. This website showcases some of the things I've made.
