Garden Table
This is a garden table that I made. I started the project thinking that it would be a hand-tool only project but various things happened that meant I wanted to get on with it a bit quicker and I ended up using a few power tools as well.
There were quite a few new joint types for me in this build. I'd never cut a bridle joint before the project and I'm not sure I'll be in a rush to do one again, especially with such a large area and with the joint at 45°! The half-lap dovetails (used for some of the slats) were also new to me (and possibly not the ideal choice of joint really, but it's too late to do anything about that); those seemed to go very well I think. Finally, the "coopered" column, with the angled joints made using a bandsaw and a hand plane (plus some 3D-printed rests to aid with planing) was, I think, a great success and it's great to know that I can do that in future.
If you'd like to read all the trials and tribulations of the build process, it's written up in great detail (with lots of photos) on the build log.
