Sliding Lid Box

This is a very simple box that I made out of a piece of alder. As with most of the boxes I've made to date, it was made with hand tools. The dovetails were cut with my 3D printed dovetail saw guides as this was made before I was good enough with a saw to cut them freehand. With hindsight, I think it would have looked better without the little cut-out on the end of the sides where the lid joins, but I'm still very happy with the box.

I am a hobbyist metalworker and woodworker. I work as an electronic design engineer and spend most of my working days in front of a computer so I enjoy having the opportunity to use my hands and make things in my spare time. I particularly enjoy making tools as I can then use them on other projects. This website showcases some of the things I've made.
