Mitred Walnut Tray
This is a simple mitred walnut tray that I made using my travel tool chest and mini-moravian bench while on holiday in France. The sides are American Black Walnut, splayed out at 15° from the vertical. The base is Sycamore, as are the splines in the corners.
This photo shows the lovely grain in the Sycamore:
It was made entirely with hand tools (albeit from wood that had previously been resawn with a bandsaw); you can read the details of the build in the build log.
